At Gaunce Law, we are passionate and dedicated Florida business and employment attorneys who live and work in St. Petersburg, Florida.  We provide comprehensive business planning solutions and are committed to building relationships with each of our clients.  Our team helps Florida business owners and entrepreneurs nurture, grow and defend their livelihoods, while encouraging a proactive approach to navigating employment and business law issues.

Meet Meredith

Meredith Gaunce specializes in helping business owners understand how employment laws affect them and their businesses.  She has been practicing law for well over a decade. She graduated from Emory University in 2004 with her B.A. in Political Science and Spanish and the University of Georgia School of Law in 2007 where she was the Founder and President of the Animal Legal Protection Organization (“ALPO”).

After relocating to St. Petersburg in 2010 with her husband Andy and 4 dogs, Meredith began working for the leading international Labor and Employment firm Ogletree Deakins.

​

In 2013, Meredith left the firm to become an in-house attorney for a corporation handling their employment matters and corporate contract needs. In 2016, Meredith decided it was time to share her expertise with the local business community in St. Petersburg.

 

Meredith, Andy, their son Noah, and dogs live in St. Petersburg and enjoy taking advantage of what they believe is the coolest city in the country.

When she is not representing her incredible clients, or rehoming geriatric dogs, Meredith enjoys beading jewelry with her business MerMade Beaded Jewelry and has Co-authored a love letter to St. Pete titled: Traveling St. Pete: A Girls Guide

Meet Andy

Andy Gaunce is a business attorney who has spent his entire career making sure business owners and entrepreneurs have the necessary legal protections in place to maximize their growth and prosperity. Most recently he was a member of the Legal Department in a Fortune 500 company in Clearwater, Florida. Prior to that, he has had the opportunity to work with businesses of all shapes and sizes as a corporate attorney at the leading law firm in Savannah, Georgia.

As a fourth generation entrepreneur, Andy knows through experience what businesses mean to their owners, their communities and the people they serve.

​

Originally from a small town in Central Kentucky, Andy served as a United States Marine prior to getting a Degree at the University of Kentucky. Andy received a scholarship to attend law school at the University of South Carolina. Andy has been recognized as one of the top 10 corporate counsel in America under forty by the Association of Corporate Counsel. He is licensed to practice law in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.

When Andy is not working to serve businesses, or serving on the Board of Directors for the Tampa Bay SPCA, he enjoys playing the guitar, and gardening. From time to time you may also see him rolling around on his longboard.

Meet Molly

Molly Buie joined Gaunce Law in 2022 after nearly 20 years of practicing federal sector employment law with a boutique firm in Washington, D.C.  During that time, she developed an expertise in Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and related laws and regulations.  She has extensive trial and appellate experience and has successfully represented clients before a number of federal courts and administrative bodies.

A Florida girl at heart, Molly grew up in Pensacola, Florida and moved back to the state in 2014 to be near her family.  She now lives in St. Petersburg.

Molly graduated with honors from the American University, Washington College of Law and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Florida, where she majored in Political Science and Latin American Studies.  She is barred in Florida, the District of Columbia, and New York, and is admitted to the bars of several federal courts throughout the country.  She is a member of the Pinellas Chapter of the Florida Association of Women Lawyers.

 Molly is an avid cook and baker who enjoys trying new restaurants and breweries around St. Pete and spending time with her family.  Her favorite #travelingstpete spots are the Saturday Morning Farmer’s Market, Mazzaro’s, and Blush Tea.
